Work
Three sites that are running
The best way to see what you would get from me is to open them on your phone.
Tereza Langerová
Services, price list, gift vouchers, gallery and reviews — and a booking two clicks away from every page.

Repete Head Spa
A brand-new studio that needed to look established from its first day open.

Čaj s Romanou
More than a business card: services with prices, guided meditations and writing Romana keeps adding to herself.

Who does the work
I am Štěpán, and I build the sites myself, start to finish

I have spent eight years writing software freelance — most of it backends for some of the largest Czech online shops. The sites I build for small businesses use the same technology, just less of it: that is why there is nothing on them to break, and why they last.
I live in Nové Město nad Metují. Around here — Náchod, Hradec Králové — I am glad to come by in person; otherwise we settle everything over the phone.
I am not an agency and not a team. You call me directly and you are talking to whoever builds your site.
How you pay
Twice, and you hear both numbers up front
Once for the site
It follows the scope — how many pages, whether the words and photos exist, what else the site has to do. I give you the number after a short call, not from a rate card.
Yearly for running it
A small fee covering hosting, the domain, small edits up to three hours a year, and not having to think about the site at all.
I am not VAT registered, so the number you hear is the number you pay. No monthly licences and no plugin fees.
Scope
What you get
Most of what I build are presentation sites for shops, studios and trades. Anything beyond that we talk through — either I do it, or I have people who do.
Why not a template
Nothing on it breaks, because none of that is there
Process
How it goes
- 01
You call, we talk it through
No commitment. I need to know what you run and what the site is for. From that I tell you the price and the date.
- 02
You send me the material
Words and photos. This is the only part that depends on you — and in practice it decides how long the whole site takes.
- 03
I build it and show you
You get a link to a working site, not a picture of one. Open it on your own phone and tell me what to change.
- 04
We finish it and go live
I connect the domain, set up email on it and put analytics in place. The site goes live.
- 05
You get in touch when you need to
A small edit, a new photo, changed opening hours. Nothing for you to sort out yourself, nothing to log into.
Questions
What people ask
What will it cost?
You pay twice: once for the site, then a small yearly fee for running it and for small edits. No monthly licence or plugin fees. I quote both numbers from the scope rather than a rate card — what moves them is the number of pages, whether your words and photos exist yet, and whether the site has to do more than present your business. Call and I will tell you both. I am not VAT registered, so what you hear is what you pay.
Where does the site run, and what do I keep paying?
Usually on my hosting, where I look after it. You pay one yearly fee that covers running the site and small edits up to three hours a year — those never come with a separate invoice. If you would rather, the site can run on your own account and you pay for it directly.
Will I be able to edit it myself?
No, and that is deliberate — there is no content management system, which is exactly why nothing breaks and there is nothing to keep updating. I make the edits for you: call or write, and an ordinary change (a new price, opening hours, a photo) is done straight away and covered by the yearly fee. Nothing to remember, nothing to log into.
Who writes the words, and what if I have no photos?
The best sites are the ones you write yourself — you know your work better than anyone, and I will tell you what belongs on which page. If you have neither the time nor the appetite, I will bring in a copywriter and a photographer; with photos I recommend it, because a site built from stock looks like every other one.
What if I need a shop or something extra?
Get in touch and we will go through it. I build presentation sites myself; for an online shop, a booking system or listings I will tell you honestly whether a custom build makes sense or whether an off-the-shelf product serves you better.
Who owns the site?
You do. The source code is yours and I will hand the site over wherever you ask, whenever you ask — you are not tied to me. The domain is up to you: I can register it in your name, or hold it for you so renewals and settings are not your problem.
What if I cannot reach you, or you stop doing this?
The domain is in your name and the content is yours. If I am not around, the site keeps running — nothing about it depends on me, and anyone who builds websites can take it over. The handover includes an export of the content in a format that opens without a programmer.
How does the contract and the payment work?
With the quote I send you a single page of terms, so it is clear what you get and when. On smaller jobs you pay in full after handover, on larger ones half at the order. Two rounds of changes from your feedback are included, and I fix any defects free of charge for two years after handover.
I have an old site. Can it be taken over?
Yes, and it happens often. I bring the content across — words, photos and the page addresses, so the links scattered around the internet keep working. It gets rebuilt in this technology; the old site keeps running until the new one is ready.
What happens if I call?
Nothing you are committing to. I ask what you run, how much needs to be on the site and what it is for — a few minutes. From that I tell you the price and the date. If you cannot get through, I call you back the next day.
How long does it take?
Usually 3 to 6 weeks from the moment I have all the words and photos. I give you the exact date with the quote, because it depends on the scope — but what decides it in practice is not my hours, it is how fast the material arrives.
